Taliah Draman

Digital, Illustration, Packaging

I'm a local illustrator and graphic designer based in Perth. I love clean, simplistic and soft colours in my designs and I often do digital art using a tablet.

My favourite fields of graphic design are packaging, branding, graphic/digital art because I feel it's where I can show my creativity best. I love pop-culture, food and relaxing with a good video game to play.

What areas of graphic design are you most interested in?
I enjoy Package Design because it's exciting to imagine my design on the shelves at a store. There are endless possibilities to creativity that goes on a package. It's continuously evolving.

What inspired you to become a graphic designer?
I've always been an artist at heart but I never saw myself becoming a Graphic Designer, let alone knowing what it was. But it didn't take me long to realise that it's a lot of fun and it was something that I could expand my skills on in a different style of 'art'. I wasn't exactly inspired by anything to become a Graphic Designer, it sort of just happened and I'm glad it happened the way it did.

What are your favourite typefaces?
I really like Archer as a Serif font. Or Archer Hairline specifically because of it's slim arms that have elegant points at the end. Its different weights can suit almost any design making it a very versatile font.

Other fonts I like are Brandon Grotesque, Lato, Roboto and Avenir.

How would you describe your style?
Clean and simplistic. I don't like working with clutter in design or in my daily routine. I generally like to use 2-3 colours within a design because I believe less means more to it.

What else are you interested in outside graphic design?
Drawing, Japanese culture and video games.

Favourite colour?
I am bias for the colour blue, or any shades of teal and turquoise. Something like #58e3e8.

What's something not many people know about you?
Huge Pokemon fanatic. But I'm sure everyone knows that.
