Alexandria DavisIllustration,Textile Design & Packaging
I am an illustrator and designer based in Perth, WA. A motivated artist with a willingness to explore new techniques and try other styles of art.
My inspirations are heavily based by the pop-culture society and many other artistic platforms.
What inspired you to become a graphic designer?
During my diploma in fashion, I was losing motivation for everything in general until I had a digital illustration class. The teacher said I was one of the few who should go into graphic design. So I did, and I'm much happier that I have.
What are your favourite typefaces?
Right now it's IM Fell. Probably because of the grit the typeface has, that and it's a really old font, and I have a massive interest in history.
How would you describe your style?
I wouldn't be honest. I have lots of inspiration from heaps of different places so I can't really pinpoint a name to call my style.
What else are you interested in outside graphic design?
I like making stuff. Nothing in particular, just building stuff out of foam, clay, wood, that kind of thing.
What do you get up to outside of TAFE?
To be honest, not much. Read a lot of creepypastas and manga, but that's really it.
What are most proud of accomplishing during your time at TAFE?
Just actually finding something I love to do. I was always nervous to go into the creative industry, but it was something I wanted, so I just did it.
I have 2. Purple (generally darker purple) for general. And emerald green to wear.
